Lighthouse Beach — Full Day Trip

Adventure

THE bucket list beach of Eleuthera. ~2 hour drive south, last 3 miles on rough dirt road. Endless pink sand, nearly deserted. Atlantic on one side, Caribbean on the other. Hidden caves, great shelling, excellent snorkeling.

Pro tip: Leave early. Pack at least 1 gallon of water per person, food, sunscreen, snorkel gear. Need decent car clearance. Do NOT drive up the final hill — park at the bottom and walk. This is a full day commitment but absolutely worth it.

The crown jewel. Massive stretch of pink sand, turquoise water, rarely crowded. Consistently ranked one of the best beaches in the entire Bahamas. 5 min drive.

Pro tip: Best light for photos in the morning. Bring a chair, a book, and a cooler. You won't want to leave.

Ten Bay Beach

20 min south on the Caribbean side. Calm, shallow, crystal-clear water like a swimming pool. The best snorkeling within 30 min of the cottage — parrotfish, stingrays, turtles along the rock ledges.

Pro tip: Bring snorkel gear (or grab it from the cottage). Walk to either end of the beach for the best reef access.

Twin Coves Beach

Beach

Two small coves connected by a sand bridge at low tide. Feels like your own private beach. Great snorkeling along the rocky edges. More intimate and adventurous than French Leave. 5-10 min drive.

Pro tip: Check the tide — low tide is when you can walk the sand bridge between the coves to the little cay. Bring water shoes.
